The Township of Scugog is located just north of the town of Whitby and the city of Oshawa. The largest community in Scugog in Port Perry.
The Township is serviced by both the Durham Region Transit and GO Transit. There are two GO bus stops. Durham Region Transit has a route that goes directly to Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of technology.
The Nonquon provincial wildlife area is located in Scugog (just north of Port Perry) and has over 2,000 acres of wildlife.
There are five public schools, one high school, and Durham College/University of Ontario Institute of technology is about 15 min south of the Township.
