Whitby Location

Whitby is situated approximately 50 minutes away from downtown Toronto. The town borders Ajax to the West, Pickering to the northwest, Scugog to the North, and Oshawa to the east. 

Whitby Transportation

Durham Region Transit and GO Transit service the town. It has one GO train stop and is accessible by the 401 and the 407 ETR.   

Whitby Attractions

The historic architecture and charming streets characterize Whitby’s downtown area. It also has a mix of shops, restaurants, and attractions. The Town has worked to preserve its heritage. The downtown area reflects a blend of historical and modern elements.

Whitby Outdoors

Whitby has a beautiful waterfront and is home to the Port Whitby Marina. It has approximately 13 km of trails ideal for cycling, walking or running. The town’s waterfront area provides parks and trails along Lake Ontario. It offers scenic views and outdoor activities. Trails in the area include Lynde Shores Conservation Area, Brooklin Lions Trail, and Herber Down Conservation Area. 

Whitby Education

The town has several elementary, public and private schools. The town is home to Durham College Whitby Campus and Trent University Durham. Post-secondary education in the area includes Ontario Tech University, York University, Ryerson University, the University of Toronto, Centennial College, and Durham College Oshawa Campus.  

Whitby Real Estate

The town of Whitby offers a diverse range of housing options. These include single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, and apartments. The town has a mix of both historic and newer neighbourhoods.
